Beth Orton Picture
Perhaps best described as a folk/electronica artist, Beth Ortonwas born in East Dereham, Norfolk, and moved to East London at age 14. Orton found success as a musician late, having been more interested in acting during her early career. She first gained notice in 1995 for her vocals on The Chemical Brothers' track "Alive Alone" and is well known for her collaboration (stemming from a relationship) with William Orbitin which she lends her voice for the Strange Cargoalbums. The collaboration with Orbit named SuperPinkyMandy, though of excellent sound, was only released in very limited numbers in Japan. Orton's first solo album, Trailer Park, was released in 1996.

The Prisoner Lyrics

Beth Orton

Summers burning (up inside)
Left alone (to gag then tie)
Here comes the rain
Just when you never thought youd lose your way again
When its so wrong
It has to be, nobody has won
We will soon be free
The prisoner is history
We will soon be free
The prisoner is history
Yea...
Youve been lost and youve been found
This time youve gotta stand your ground
Here comes your train
Just when you never thought youd catch that ride again
When its so wrong
It has to be, everybodys gone
We will soon be free
The prisoner is history
We will soon be free
The prisoner is history
Yea...
